Waste Fibre Reinforced Plastic as Road Material -044
Research to develop a low cost way of using the reinforcement potential of waste fibre and reinforced plastic material in road construction, particularly bituminous pavements. Funded by RMC Environment Fund and Aggregate Industries
039- RMC Concrete Blocks- Towards a Sustainable Material (Part 2)
The use of waste materials in aggregate concrete block production could substantially reduce the reliance on primary aggregates. Tests done to date demonstrate the potential to use common waste materials in block production. However, the early prototype tests need to advance to full scale pilot tests after a further period of laboratory assessment.

Non Ferrous Waste Streams as Bound Aggregates in Construction-037
A research project reducing the environmental impact of construction through cost-effective and safe use of small volume waste streams from non-ferrous metal production (ferro-silicate slags from zinc production and spent pot linings from aluminium production) as aggregates bound in cement and bitumen.
